If you have a bike you wish to donate to a good cause there are a number of bicycle recycling projects eager to receive unwanted bikes and frames, as listed below. Many of these organisations also sell on the bikes they have rebuilt, so will be good places to contact if you are looking for a second-hand bike.
- Common Wheel Project is based in Maryhill, Drumchapel and Bridgeton.
- Glasgow Bike Station recycles bicycles, and is based at the Barras in Glasgow.
- De'ils on Wheels is part of the Dumbarton Road Corridor Environment Trust, and is based at 40 Kingsway Court, Scotstoun West, G14 9SU. Contact monty@dumbartonroad.com on 07515 879747.
- Gorbals Recycles Project is part of Number Ten, and is based at 10 Commercial Court, Gorbals, G5 0PJ.
- SOL Bespoke Project is based in Motherwell.
Through in Edinburgh, The Bike Station also recycles and refurbishes old bicycles.
