Lennoxtown, Station Rd TRO

A proposed Traffic Regulation Order to make the south-eastern pavement on Station Road into shared use. Related to Lennoxtown Main Street Regeneration/Active Travel Project.

Transport Delivery Framework – Your Ideas

A call for ideas, using a form in the council’s consultation website (registration required). There’s a Walking, wheeling and cycling section. Deadline has been extended.

Glasgow City

Pollok Country Park access survey

In-depth survey asking what attracts you to visit the park, how often, which entrance(s) you use and your method of transport. The more responses for cycling that highlight issues on the park’s roads/paths the more likely it is that they get looked at.

One development just outside the park – the new protected lanes on Dumbreck Rd are nearly complete. These will be a direct link between the South West City Way at St Andrews Drive and the bridge towards Bellahouston Park.

Proposed City Development Plan 2

Detailed consultation about future development and land use. Topic reports include: economy, environment, housing and transport. The latter has a Sustainable Transport Network map with a bit more detail on the new Connecting Glasgow routes. It seems to show some more proposed routes branching off the main circular route (but they change if you zoom in). The map also has NCN routes but doesn’t show the City Ways. The rest are bus/rail routes and there’s also a Public Transport Accessibility Map. Some of these are large PDF documents and very detailed maps, which may take a while to load.

Parking TROs

Glasgow City Council have ‘made’ (brought into force) one proposed Traffic Regulation Order to amend existing parking proposals in North Kelvin and North Woodside. There’s no sign of the other new orders which hit the media with petitions and protests last year. However, work has started in Dennistoun, on some welcome corner build-outs, that had been included in TRO proposals. It’s not clear if that order, or any other, has been made but not yet announced.

South Lanarkshire

Pride in Place funding for Hamilton town centre

A total of £20m funding for deprived areas – recently the Hamilton Town Centre Board was set up to oversee the project. The boundary for Hamilton town centre has been drawn quite widely to include most of Bothwell Road (NCN74) and part of the neighbourhoods of Burnbank, Whitehill and Barncluith. “Local people will have opportunities to share their views and help shape plans for Hamilton town centre.” No new consultation at the moment (following Masterplan consultation in 2024).
