<p>It&#8217;s Friday the 13th September and as well as being unlucky for some it&#8217;s&#8230;</p>

<p><strong> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23GlasgowCycleInfraDay19&amp;src=typeahead_click" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="#GlasgowCycleInfraDay19 (opens in a new tab)">#</a><em><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23GlasgowCycleInfraDay19&amp;src=typeahead_click" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="#GlasgowCycleInfraDay19 (opens in a new tab)">GlasgowCycleInfraDay19</a></em></strong></p>

<p>So, when on your bike today, as part of your commute, group ride, or just popping down the street for some cake, take a photograph of that piece of infrastructure that you like, as well as one of that makes your heart sink every time you use it or pass it.</p>

<span id="more-9050"></span>

<p>Post these photos to social media, with some witty comments, as well as tagging the location, including the street name, then final adding the hashtag <strong><a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23GlasgowCycleInfraDay19&amp;src=typeahead_click" target="_blank">#</a><em><a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23GlasgowCycleInfraDay19&amp;src=typeahead_click" target="_blank">GlasgowCycleInfraDay19</a></em></strong> </p>

<p>It would also help us greatly if you could also add your posts to our <a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ewY8HhHyp3BeJ-1vM37WixdGjoPmGSXQ&amp;usp=sharing">interactive map</a>. Just add a pin to the location on the map and include the URL of the relevant tweet.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t worry if you can&#8217;t, as we will be going through the tweets and adding them to the map over the weekend. </p>

<p> You&#8217;ll be able to watch the gallery build throughout the day by keeping an eye on the hashtag on <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23GlasgowCycleInfraDay19&amp;src=typeahead_click">Twitter</a> (other social media platforms are available). There have been lots of posts already added this morning already.</p>

<p>Remember, this is supposed to be an easy way of documenting a day in the life of Glasgow&#8217;s cycling infrastructure.  So <strong>please be sensible</strong>; bus most importantly&#8230; <strong>have fun</strong>!</p>

<p>Our annual event to record the Good and Bad cycling infrastructure returns this Friday 13th September. Get your phone out and take photos of all those bits of infrastructure you love, a well as the ones that get under your skin. Then post them online to your favourite social media platform with the hashtag #GlasgowCycleInfraDay19</p>

<span id="more-9031"></span>

<p>The idea for #GlasgowCycleInfraDay is a simple one: we use twitter to record “a day in the life of Glasgow’s cycle lanes”.  A look at the good, the bad, and the simply absent cycling infrastructure over 24 hours.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="525" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A good example of improved cycle infrastructure just by Queens park gates near Brodie&#39;s pub <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GlasgowCycleInfraDay18?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GlasgowCycleInfraDay18</a> <a href="https://t.co/o04ArqC9OZ">pic.twitter.com/o04ArqC9OZ</a></p>&mdash; Neil Lovelock (@kneeltweet) <a href="https://twitter.com/kneeltweet/status/1037966751861022720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 7, 2018</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>Getting involved is even simpler still. Just grab your camera or your phone, if you see any cycling infrastructure you think is worth recording just take a photo and post it with this year’s hashtag <strong>#GlasgowCycleInfraDay19</strong>.  Remember and include the location of the infrastructure. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="525" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Cycling across a junction, into traffic, to get on a cycle path. It doesnt work @ niddrie road<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GlasgowCycleInfraDay18?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GlasgowCycleInfraDay18</a> <a href="https://t.co/Pw0Iij0Rqe">pic.twitter.com/Pw0Iij0Rqe</a></p>&mdash; LynneD (@boxtastic) <a href="https://twitter.com/boxtastic/status/1037997572772831232?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 7, 2018</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>We will be collating the responses and handing them over to Glasgow City Council, to highlight where they’re letting us down and, just as importantly, what they’re getting right. </p>

<p>To make it easier for us to do that, the more precise you can about the location of the image the easier it is for us to map.  In your post if you could please either tag the location or add the street name. </p>

<p>It would also help us massively if you could add the link to your post to the <strong><a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ewY8HhHyp3BeJ-1vM37WixdGjoPmGSXQ&amp;usp=sharing">#GlasgowCycleInfraDay19</a></strong> map This will allow others to see where has and where hasn&#8217;t been photographed across the city. We also use this to provide information back to the Council. The interactive map can be found <a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ewY8HhHyp3BeJ-1vM37WixdGjoPmGSXQ&amp;usp=sharing">here</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/9Hx7E_Yca6sY7pxqaMEvQ4ZaeDXRbc29UsOCq7RHktiF4PaK2GWcyypua80yPEsePUQYVE9cgckfNLgJutZyGLlUbVQVoBYMFn6dsPFOUhBoeOJYVBd6FM2t1LSHkgb2ngyqqZ80yOg" alt=""/><figcaption><strong>#GlasgowCycleInfraDay18 Map</strong><br><a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1i02Su67mC16LAmEnk-rl9pYEG9-IxlVO&amp;usp=sharing">https://drive.google.com/open?id=1i02Su67mC16LAmEnk-rl9pYEG9-IxlVO&amp;usp=sharing</a></figcaption></figure>

<p>If you are not on social media you can also get involved. Take your photos either on your phone or camera and upload directly to the interactive <strong><a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ewY8HhHyp3BeJ-1vM37WixdGjoPmGSXQ&amp;usp=sharing">#GlasgowCycleInfraDay19</a></strong> map.</p>

<p>The more pictures we show the council, the more likely they are to understand what the city needs and this will help us be able to push for change.  So spread the word… and remember your phone/camera on Friday September 13th.</p>
