Meeting Point and Times
First Sunday of the month – rides usually start at 10am (unless otherwise stated).
Meet on the north bank of the Clyde in the open space just east of Bell’s Bridge, Glasgow. It’s by the Armadillo, between the road and riverside path (see OpenStreetMap address).
Rides are generally around 20-30 miles in length, although winter rides are shorter. Often there is the option to return by train for a shorter ride. On longer summer rides a lunch break is usually taken in a suitable café or pub en route, although you are welcome to bring your own picnic if you wish. Rides are usually on tarmac surfaces (road or path) and suitable for most types of bikes (e.g. tourer, racer, hybrid, mountain bike). Occasionally, there may be sections of route on rougher paths or tracks – see ride descriptions for details.
GoBike rides are social rides for GoBike members, and are not a club run. We would ask that anyone coming along adheres to the rules of the road, rides no more than two abreast, and takes the safety of other riders around them into account when cycling.
Cycle Rides and Events for 2026
Rides organised by GoBike except where stated.
Sunday 2 August 2026 – Inverkip
This ride will take us down the River Clyde, starting off on the North side and using the Loch Lomond path, the crossing the Renfrew Bridge and joining the path along the A8 towards Bishopton. From there we will cross the new Dargavel development, seeing how the paths are coming along, before continuing through Langbank, and towards Port Glasgow and Greenock. After a lunch stop in Greenock, there will be an optional continuation around the coast to Inverkip, passing the Cloch Lighthouse.
25 miles to Greenock, 35 miles to Inverkip, a mix of paths, some alongside main roads, and a section on an undulating country road. Return by train from a selection of stations in Inverclyde.
Meet 10am Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.

Sunday 5 September 2026 – Seven Lochs Trail
We visited the Seven Lochs Trail shortly after opening, a few years back. So this will be a repeat visit, taking in the route between Hogganfield Loch and Drumpellier Country Park. On the way out, we hope to use some of the new Avenues routes around the north of the City Centre, before heading out to Hogganfield Park to join the trail. After lunch at the café at Drumpellier, we shall return via another route, briefly seeing the Monkland Canal and the West End of Coatbridge, then back through Bargeddie and Mount Vernon, to finish at Glasgow Green.
26 miles, a mix of paths, cycleways and streets, the occasional climb, and with most of the paths on the Seven Lochs Trail being made but unsealed.
Meet 10am Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.

Sunday 4 October 2026 – Erskine
We will head out of Glasgow towards the airport, then join the cycle route to Inchinnan. Then we will go into Erskine on the New Town’s path network, to end up at the waterfront. Next will be the Boden Boo woodland and Erskine Bridge, then return through Clydebank to Glasgow on the Loch Lomond path.
26 miles, a mix of paths and back streets, only a few short bits on busier roads, and little in the way of climbing. Potentially stopping in Clydebank for lunch.

Sunday 1 November 2026 – Aurs Road
This ride will take us to see the hopefully finished work on the new road layout at Aurs Road, between Newton Mearns and Barrhead. We will take a trip around the Balgray Reservoir to see the work that has been done, including the new cycle path that will be available right around the reservoir. On the way out, we will take in a new cycleway on Dumbreck Road, and visit Rouken Glen Park for a brief morning stop, before the climb up Ayr Road. For the return into Glasgow, we will pass by Scotland’s newest railway station, and then follow the Levern Water into Pollok, to end up at the Govan Bridge and Riverside Museum around lunchtime.
22 miles, with mostly urban roads, one country road, and a mix of cycle infrastructure. One unsurfaced path heading out of Barrhead.
Meet 10am Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.
