‘Cycle out with GoBike: Sunday 3 November – The White Cart Wanderer



Sunday 3 November – The White Cart Wanderer
We will head to Renfrew before loosely following the White Cart upstream to Linn Park. Attractions en route include the Inchinnan Bascule Bridge, Paisley Abbey, Anchor Mill, Pollok Park and the Snuff Mill Bridge. On the way to Renfrew we’ll have a look at some new cycle infrastructure in Govan.

Dumbarton Loop – ride out this Sunday with GoBike for a 35 mile tour.

Sunday 6 October – Dumbarton Loop
We will head out of Glasgow along the Loch Lomond Railway Path, but only as far as Dumbarton. After the lunch stop there will be a tour around the Dumbarton area to see some of the local attractions, including passing Strathleven House, before returning to Glasgow.
35 miles, largely on the flat.
Meet 10am Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.

Get out on your bike with GoBike, Sunday 01 September. Explore south of Glasgow to Strathaven.

Sunday 1 September – Strathaven Circular
Strathaven is a popular destination and our cycle ride this month will take a circular route out through Eaglesham and back via High Blantyre, with a lunch stop at Strathaven.
45 miles, including some short but steep climbs.
Meet 10am Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.

GoBike monthly ride for August – coming up on Sunday!

Here are the details for our August ride – don’t forget that they are held on the first Sunday of the month, always taking you somewhere, at least for part of the route, that is new to you.

Sunday 4 August – Doon The Water
As usual, we will start on the bank of the River Clyde, and we will follow it downstream, crossing the Erskine Bridge and joining the Clyde Coastal Path. After lunch in Greenock there will be a local tour around the Greenock area to take in the views.
35 miles, returning by train from Gourock.
Meet 10am Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.

GoBike Ride – Sunday 5th May – Strathclyde Town & Country Tour

This ride will see us cycling through East Kilbride on our way to Strathclyde Country Park. We’ll head out of Glasgow along the recently built cycle route connecting Queen’s Park and Muirend, then head up the hill to East Kilbride where we will cross the town on a mixture of paths and roads. Then out into the countryside briefly before descending through Hamilton to Strathclyde Country Park. After lunch, we will head across to Uddingston to return to Glasgow along NCN75 (including the Clyde Walkway).

35 miles round trip, including some short sections on potentially busier roads.

GoBike Ride – Sunday 7th April – Strathkelvin Railway Path

We will head along Sauchiehall Street before heading out through the north eastern part of the city into the countryside around Auchinloch. We will then join the Strathkelvin Railway Path at Lenzie and head for our lunch stop at Clachan of Campsie. The return will be via Strathblane and Milngavie, and onto the Kelvin Walkway.

35 miles, including a steep climb out of Strathblane.

Consultation Digest Issue 29, 05 March 2019: The Good the Bad and the Ugly news from all around.

GoBike Ride – Sunday 3 March – Northern Heights & Clyde Waterfront

This ride will head through the West End to join the Forth & Clyde Canal at Maryhill. However, we will then leave the canal and visit Bearsden and the Garscadden Woods. We will see a former Roman fort in Clydebank before our lunch stop in Bowling. We will return into Clydebank, passing a lighthouse on the way, then we’ll take a look at the Clydebank waterfront development. After that, we will see the finished cycle route to the Knightswood Park BMX centre, and return back to the West End.

30 miles, including some off-road woodland paths with short but steep climbs..
