Today nine hardy souls came out on Sauchiehall Street to support the councils efforts in improving the street for pedestrians and cyclists.
Currently the street has significant improvement works that had started a few weeks ago.
The improved public realm works seek to create a more people friendly public space with safe cycling provision at its heart.
A Sauchiehall Street for our children too, ensuring anyone of any age and ability can safely cycle along this Glasgow street. The Sauchiehall Avenue works will transform this iconic street into a more people friendly place. It will also allow more people to arrive using appropriate transport and to form an important route in Glasgow’s developing safe cycle network.
We at GoBike look forward to seeing this Avenues project grow around the city and hope that it can eventually lead to a linked up network to allow people to choose active travel as a safe option in and around Glasgow.
