Govan to Partick bridge – major progress

On recent GoBike rides (first Sunday of each month) we have called in to see progress on the construction of this bridge, which will link Govan and Partick. Yesterday morning (Saturday 14 October) as two of us cycled out to Bowling, we noted the appearance of a yellow crane.

On our return we saw that the longer bridge span, the movable part had arrived, at about 12:30, we were told:

We also understand that, all being well, this white, main span, will be placed in position on Tuesday, 17 October. This view, below, will then be quite different:

Let’s hope it all goes well and we can all soon cycle or walk to and from Govan and Partick. What a change it will make.

Update: see photos of installation in this Re:Glasgow article.
