This ride sees us heading along the riverside to Glasgow Green, then onwards to explore the East End of Glasgow, including its parks. We will see some of the better known parks such as Tollcross Park and Hogganfield Park, and also some of the smaller parks.
Along the way we will pass attractions as diverse as the Velodrome and Provan Hall. We will finish up at Speirs Wharf at around lunchtime. 22 miles, with the occasional climb, and short bits on main roads.
Meet 10am at the north end of Bell’s Bridge, Congress Road, Glasgow.
Let’s hope the weather on Sunday is conducive to checking out all the cycling infrastructure on Andy’s route: the new and not so new, the good and not so good.
Sunday 05 January will be our specific infrastructure ride and will take in much of the recently built cycle infrastructure within Glasgow. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us. We will revisit Byres Road, taking a more detailed look than last month.
The ride this time has us skirting the city centre, then heading out through the north eastern part of the city and into the countryside beyond Robroyston. Then we carry on towards Cumbernauld, passing Arria, before joining the Forth & Clyde Canal near Banknock.
