North East City Ways needs YOU!

Our friends at St. Paul’s Youth Forum and On Bikes have been successful in gaining a grant from Sustrans to develop their proposals to drastically improve walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure in the north east of Glasgow. This is brilliant news, but to make it happen, they need your views. In order to progress to the next stage it is important that they gather as much data from everyone that uses the North East – living, working or playing – to find out what the barriers are and what everyone thinks is needed.

These exciting proposals are looking to connect infrastructure along Royston Road, Cumbernauld Road, and within Blackhill. They include continuous pavements to make getting around easier for people to walk, push prams, and use wheelchairs. They look at making junctions safer. They propose 20mphs streets, separated cycle lanes and creative ideas for placemaking. And more!

There are several ways in which you can help – via a survey, as a part of a focus group, by emailing your suggestions, or via our shared Commonplace map. To find out more about the proposals and how you can help, head on over to their website. And please do share this news around to help the conversation grow.
