Start the New Year with GoBike!

Greetings for Christmas and the New Year and, for those of you who don’t over-celebrate on Hogmanay or who just wish to get out for a breath of fresh air. See Andy’s intro to his ride for New Year’s Day:

Sunday 1 January 2023 – GoBike Annual Cycle Infrastructure Ride
This year’s infrastructure ride will take in some larger infrastructure projects, and some older and newer cycle routes. We will take a look at the open areas within the Sighthill regeneration area, including looking for evidence of the ‘cycling village’ that was promised. We’ll also pay a flying visit to the Stockingfield Bridge on our way across town. A Spaces For People pop-up cycle route will feature, as will the good old Colleges cycle route, some of which has been refreshed. There will be a “bridging gaps” theme, and riders are invited to spot gaps that have been bridged, and gaps that still require bridging. There will be a couple of viewpoints along the way, so expect the occasional hill. We will end up on Kelvin Way around lunchtime.
15 miles, including some sections on potentially busier roads, but being New Year’s Day they will hopefully be quieter than usual.

See here for further details of GoBike rides. We will meet, as usual, at the north end of Bell’s Bridge at the SEC at 10:00hrs.
